OUR EXPERIENCE OF THIS PLACE IS GENERALLY ALWAYS REALLY POSITIVE, SO IT CAME AS ASURPRISE WHEN THE FOOD TURNED UP AS LATE AS POSSIBLE (IE THE ESTIMATED DELIVERY TIME WAS 8.25PM TO 9.50 PM AND IT TURNED UP AT 9.51PM) AND IT WAS ALMOST COLD. APART FROM THAT, AS USUAL, IT TASTES REALLY GOOD - JUST BE PREPARED TO WARM IT UP IN THE OVEN X

Medium spice prawn dish - not spicy at all, even for me and I'm not that great at handling really hot stuff. Taste itself was good, but it was evident they certainly didn't cook it with the right amount of spices. Only 6 pieces of prawn for a 10-pound dish - you could certainly get a better deal elsewhere. Salad came in typical poly bag (do most Indian restaurants do this?) and even the mango lassi came in a curry packaging box. At least put the drinks in a takeaway plastic cup or something. And they actually called us up to inform us they were giving us free poppadums? We've always gotten it as a side freebie whenever we ordered from other places on Hungryhouse - Besides, how much can it cost? Think it's over-rated and don't plan to order again from here (at least from our floor).

After reading the reviews we were quite excited to order the food. The rice was pretty good and the garlic naan was decent, but other than that all three of us were disappointed. The 'medium' spice curry was very bland had almost no spice in it. I would not even have classified it as a curry. The ceylon was at least spicy, but had only three pieces of chicken in it, which was really disappointing. The chicken tikka was okay, but nothing especially delicious. Between all of us, we decided that our search for good indian takeaway unfortunately has to continue.

I am reletively close to the takeaway so was quite surprised that they only just made the HungryHouse delivery time upper level. On my instructions I clearly state how to buzz into my building and come up to my front door on the 1st floor, yet the delivery driver called from the pavement to ask me to come out to him. I told him I couldn't come down to the door and he was very rude and said they only ever deliver to the ground floor. After I was adament about not being able to come down (I was ill and in my PJs!) he grunted and told me I would have to wait until he had parked his car. 5 minutes later he rang the buzzer and came up (taking it over the allotted delivery time). When the food arrived it was all in one bag - hot and cold together and the drink was missing. I was quite annoyed at this point which did inhibit my enjoyment of the food. Other than my burnt naan the mixed Thali was (only) okay and definitely nothing special, just a standard Indian. The only other comment is that the chutney was not a mango chutney - instead just a non descript sweet (very) watery liquor. Would not order from there again.
