How will you be Celebrating Friday the 13th?

Superstitious or not, so deep is the association of bad luck with this day that there is even a phobia related to Friday 13th!

But is Friday the 13th really unlucky? And what is it about Friday the 13th that has given it such a bad reputation?

So how can I survive the day?!!

So if you are staying at home on the couch because Friday the 13th has made you be a little more cautious than usual. And if you are in the dark and eating a takeaway because you are afraid to use the electricity and oven! You should be aware that ordering a chinese may not be the wisest option especially if you decide to pig out and order seven dishes.

In China it is tradition to have a seven course feast at a your funeral, and so ordering seven dishes is seen to bring on the real thing!

 

That being said Friday the 13th has ironically become the safest day to travel on the road, due to people being more careful or staying at home altogether! Of course all of this is baloney to the Italians who believe 13 to be lucky and the Spanish for whom  it’s Tuesday the 13th that is tarred with bad luck.

Whatever you believe about superstitions, staying at home is not the best way to spend your Fridays. So lets celebrate the day instead, bury those associations of bad luck and turn Friday the 13th into a day of partying! Have an awesome weekend from all of the hungryhouse team!
