Lung Fung, Sheffield: Review of the Week
First times are always the most exciting. Thrill of uncertainty, the anticipation of the wait, and (hopefully) the reward of being pleasantly surprised at having your expectations exceeded. Our Review of the Week winner Sharon found a first time experience that ticked all the boxes – a first time ordering at hungryhouse! Read on to find out more.
“Firstly I have never ordered food using hungryhouse before and Lung Fung seemed to jump out at me, I read the reviews and decided that the only way to really know what it was like was to go ahead and order and to my complete surprise the whole experience was amazing.
Being a fan of Chinese curry I have yet to find one that pleases my palette and this one certainly did, the curry was nicely spiced, there was plenty of pork that melted nicely in the mouth, a few to many peas and mushrooms were huge for my liking but onions were well cooked. I think this came in a slightly bigger container than I’m used to so well worth the money.
I ordered 2 large fried rice and were very happy with this too, not an over powering salty taste and evenly cooked with only a few noticeable grains of white rice, but again well worth the money.
The chow mein was bought for my teens and they both loved it and unusually ate every mouthful, they said the noodles were well cooked and on tasting a piece of beef I thought it tasted a bit like it had been barbecued but my teens disagreed. Food was piled to the top of container and easily fed both my hungry girls.
Oh what can I say about the spring roll ?? WOW WOW WOW, hot all the way through, crispy and not soggy like I have had and full to bursting with been sprouts and pork, and no prawn which I hate hidden inside.
The delivery time gobsmacked me, I had just messaged my daughter to say dinner was ordered and 10 mins later delivery guy followed her down the steps.
I hope that this level of service and quality of food stays as it was for a newbie as I will certainly be ordering again.”
