Food lovers across the UK have voted in their favourite curry restaurants, now it’s time for them to prove their city is top of the poppadoms.

Restaurants need to have their wooden spoons ready, as this year’s Curry Capital of Britain Awards are proving to be closer than ever.

We’ve already spoken to city councils and organisers, now it’s time for restaurants to spill the beans on what they’re cooking up for a 2012 win.

Ones to Beat: Bradford Weigh In On Curry Win

Will Bradford keep the Curry Capital title?

It’s getting hot in the kitchen! In 2011 Bradford decided to think big, cooking up a massive 102.2kg, world record breaking onion bhaji which helped them finally beat Glasgow to be named Curry Capital of Britain.

Now with a taste of success and a desperate Glasgow hot on their heels, what will Bradford be doing to defend their title?

Hot for Glasgow? The Hunt for UK Curry Capital

Glasgow determined to win back title

It is that time of the year again when cities across Britain are stocking up on their spices, and writing their recipes for success, to fight for the right to Chapati! Over 20 cities will be going head-to-head with their curry loving opponents to win the coveted title of Curry Capital of Britain.

It was a sad year last year for four time winners Glasgow, after Bradford and their beast of a Bahji proved too much to compete with, pushing them to second place position.

This year things are heating up, and Glasgow is ready to do whatever it takes to regain the title. Will there be a giant Dhal swimming pool? A naan frisbee competition? So many questions! We went straight to the source, speaking to Glasgow City Council Lord Provost Sadie Docherty about Glasgow’s game plan, and what makes their city worthy.

Get Curried Away With Two Spicy Scotsmen

 There are a couple of curry crusaders, or ‘currynauts’ as they like to call themselves who came  onto the hungryhouse radar for a number of reasons.

1) They’re on a curry mission which is second to ‘naan’ visiting nearly every curry house in  Glasgow and beyond, documenting their culinary curry tales on their popular blog TATTGOC (Trampy and the Tramp’s Glasgow of Curry)

2)Even though Glasgow City Council stole their Curry Lover(s) of The Year crown at this year’s hungryhouse Scottish Curry Awards, they’re still helping Glasgow win 2012′s Curry Capital of Britain

3) They’re hilarious!
