The Hungry Torch

Land’s End: Saturday 19 May

The flame is fresh from Greece and needs one last tasty kebab before heading on its 70 day adventure. Order a kebab

Plymouth: Saturday 19 May

Head to your local chippy and order fish ‘n’ chips. Don’t forget plenty of malt vinegar! Order fish ‘n’ chips

Cardiff: Friday 25 May

The torch can’t make it too far into Wales without chowing on a Welsh rarebit. Bring on the cheddar cheese! Order something cheesy

Birmingham: Saturday 30 June

Whether or not Balti cuisine was really invented here or in Pakistan, we have to recommend ordering from the Balti Triangle while the flame visits Birmingham. Search for a Balti house

Leeds: Sunday 24 June

The flame is half way through its 70 day journey. Naturally, this means it’s time for a Chinese takeaway! Order Chinese takeaway

Glasgow: Friday 8 June

Say yes to the true British national dish chicken tikka masala! The Glaswegians do it the best.Order Indian takeaway

Belfast: Wednesday 6 June

You don’t need an athlete’s diet to be an Olympics spectator. So get ready for a proper Ulster Fry while in Belfast, soda bread and all. Order something fried

London: Friday 27 July

Finally! The torch completes its long journey in London! We all deserve pizza. Order a pizza

York: Tuesday 19 June

A proper meat dish is called for in the land of Vikings! We’re thinking a double bacon cheeseburger will do the trick. Order it rare, just like the Vikings. Order a burger

Nottingham: Thursday 28 June

It’s time for this flame to take a break and neck a quick pint in the city known for its ancient pubs. Order a drink
