We look forward to our Saturday night takeaway and Chowdhury's is always our first choice. Their food is consistently good value for money, and the portion sizes are always generous. The mossalam is one of my husband's favourites as it contains not only lamb or chicken but also spicy keema. This time I opted for a mixed xacuti which was delicious, and packed with lamb, chicken and juicy prawns. You won't get a better curry anywhere in Southampton!

Meal arrived at reasonable time but the Chicken Tikka massala had a lot of coconut in it, the chicken was hardly reddened by the massala and in fact it tasted more like a kurma.

The meal was delivered in a paper bag unfortunately the korma was over filled and had partially leaked, it was also only luke warm.I was rather disappointed at the meagre amounts of meat in the curries although the taste was definitely there. The rice was wonderful, fluffy and light.I also enjoyed the homemade Naan much better than shop bought. The poppadom didn't survive transit and was broken into around twenty pieces although it was still crispy and flavoursome.I would have liked some mango chutney with my meal.Worth the money? No I wouldn't order again.

The order took over an hour to arrive and didn't arrive until a few minutes after the latest it should have been delivered by. Food was piping hot but it tasted very bland, greasy and unappetising. Very disappointed.

Being new to the Indians of Southampton, my expectations when I read over Chowdhury's menu, but those expectations weren't met. The onion bhajees were smaller than any I'd had before from a restaurant and tasted like deep fried batter. The dopiaza and keema rice were enjoyable, and nothing else. The keema naan was probably the highlight. Good speed of service though.

Usually the food is good and service is always professional. This time round food was rather poor and did not taste fresh at all.

Our meal arrived during the allocated time. Chowdhurys noticed they hadn't given us our Biriani vegetable curry and returned to deliver it. We hadn't noticed due to the free vegetable dish. Excellent service, food was excellent and we received a free dish and free poppadoms. It was a real birthday treat for my husband. Excellent value for money too. Thanks Chowdhurys!
