Food was amazing, delivery a bit slow, they replaced the rice with naan bread without contacting me while charging for the more expensive rice. Called 3 times, 1st time the guy that answered didn't have a clue what he was doing a hung up on me mid sentence, 2nd time it rang for ages they picked up and put the phone down immediately, finally managed to speak to someone on the 3rd attempt they apologised and said they would take care if me on my next order. Appreciated the offer but the hassle of dealing with them ruined the whole meal experience and I will not be ordering from them again.
Good luck with your orders Gerard, NW1

I noticed the restaurant was 'under new management' and gave it a try despite consistently excellent food and service from my usual.
Note to new management: if you would like to retain new customers, please (a) deliver to the door of their flat, not to the outside of the building on a cold winter night, and (b) do not blame them when they call up to tell you about a mistake. Several restaurants have made mistakes with our orders, but we continue to order from them simply because they immediately said 'sorry'. In this case, however, I won't be doing the same. J, NW8

The food is really delicious. We've ordered from them a few times and haven't been disappointed however last night the food was half an hour late. We did recieve a call saying it was on its way (10 mins) but it still took another 30 mins from then. It was a Sat night however so maybe they were just really busy. The food was definately worth the wait though and we did recieve complimentry drinks so hardly a disaster.

Absolutely terrible. Food was delivered an hour late, and it was only a small order. On top of that, when it was finally delivered, they had forgotten the drink. Eventually they came and delivered the drink, and the driver had the audacity to blame Hungry House for giving the wrong address. Food was not worth waiting for. Huge chunks of undercooked onion in both the chaat and the shashlik, soggy samosas. Curry was nothing special. I will never order again from this restaurant, my experience was terrible.

Fast delivery, nicely spiced curries which passed the demanding eight year old boy test

We order from Delhi often and the food is consistently on time, hot when it arrives at our door, and really great. We have absolutely nothing but good things to say. The garlic rice is amazing, as are the ceylon and vindaloo! Absolutely no complaints. Highly recommended.

I ordered the food at 8.10 hoping for my food to arrive before my favourite TV programme started. My food didn't arrive until 10pm That was almost a 2 HOUR WAIT. I don't live far from the place either.
I had to call them twice to find out what was happening with it. When the food arrived it was inevitably lukewarm. Quality was ok, nothing that great. The prawn to sauce ratio could have been better and if I'm honest the prawns didn't smell or taste particularly fresh. The cucumber raita was a bit lumpy. The nan bread was quite nice but, completely cold due to the slow delivery. The only really good thing was the saag aloo side dish - this was actually very nice. In the end it would have been better if I'd made it myself Gareth, NW11

Ordered 4 poppadoms, got 2. Ordered mint and mango chutney, got 0. I was offered the missing items free of charge with my next order but must order direct with the restaurant. Quality of the food was good and delivery was quick. Probably wouldn't order here again, have ordered from better restaurants.

Response from hungryhouse:
Hi Michael, Sorry to hear about the mistake with your order from Delhi. I understand that it can be frustrating when you find that there is an item missing from your delivery. Just to confirm that we have been in touch with the manager, and have arranged for your card to be refunded with £2.00 to cover the cost of the mistake. I hope this makes up for the problem, and that you enjoyed the rest of your meal. [Customer was also emailed] |

Although the meal arrived on the limit of the time stated it was still hot and very good. My daughter in law said it was one of the best curry's she had tasted

Unfortunately our order was over 20 minutes later than the last specified time on the list, so by the time it arrived things were getting a bit past their best. I called the restaurant and was told to expect the order very soon. Ten minutes later, received a call from the driver, who couldn't find our flat! It eventually arrived, but not a good start! to the food: The pastry on samosa's were greasy soft and chewy, the naan very rubbery too... Hmmm... The rest of the meal was quite tasty, although quite fatty and the portions aren't exactly massive. We got a free bottle of coke and a couple of poppadom's as extra's, but I can't help but feel we would have been better off without the extra's and with a better level of food and service instead.
