Really substandard curry. Desh used to be a really good restaurant. Both my
main dishes were very expensive for the amount of actual food there was swimming in the sauce (which was the same for both dishes) The Chicken Jalfrezi had six pieces of chicken and 1/4 semi cooked onion and about three small peices of capsicum. The fish curry was supposed to be salmon and was actually 6 or seven 1 inch wide 1/8 deep patties of thick battered and fried non-descript white fish (if indeed there was any fish in the batter). The saag baaji was an enormous portion of frozen spinach and garlic with a quartered semi ripe tomato in it. The best thing was the chapati and the vegetable 'stirfry' - which had considerably less of the one-sauce-does-all in it. VERY DISAPPOINTING. If I had had that in the restaurant I would have sent it back. I feel I deserve a refund. Charlotte, N5

We're new to the neighbourhood and began the hunt for our favourite takeaway with an order from Desh. The food arrived promptly and the delivery man was cheerful and friendly. I had a chicken tikka kahani, which was delicious, although it didn't look very appetizing! The balance of spices was perfect and it was buttery and tasty. The pilau rice and roti that I had with the main course were expertly cooked, the roti in particular is recommended.
The best thing about Desh is the onion bhajis that I ordered as a starter. They were incredible, crisp and well spiced. Highly recommended, one is not enough! Jen, NW5

We had a selection of veggie side dishes (four between two of us) which turned out to be excellent value. The brinjal bhaji in particular was a bit too oily but generally they were all very tasty. Recommend the paneer with peas!!

The food was very good, however the Free item did not show up and the driver did not know anything about it, nor could he do anything about the price.
I would order from them again due to the fact that the curry was very good. Peter, E5

food ok, but order took nearly an hour and a half to be delivered, delivery driver told me that I lived too far away from the takeaway (1.4 miles) and had only spent £16 by way of apology!
