Although the smoked chicken was delicious and the spring rolls were nice and crispy, it's seriously worth considering how much value for money you're getting norwadays.
Good Earth used to be consistently reliable and even if a little expensive, always worth it. Not so much any more. I feel the prices have become extortionate for the quality of the food and the small (ish) portion sizes. Going off Good Earth - time to try somewhere else. D, NW2

Started ordering from here more than 10 years ago, when we lived round the corner, and continued to do so after moving to Willesden (with a brief hiatus when their delivery policy was based on postcode, rather then real distance, so they would not deliver to anywhere in NW10 despite their stated policy of delivering within a 3-mile radius).
The food is really very good indeed and the menu includes a number of interesting dishes that you wouldn't find on a bog-standard Chinese takeaway menu, such as lettuce-wrapped chicken, soft shell crab and Cantonese fillet steak. The standard is upmarket restaurant, rather than High Street takeaway. Service is also consistently good. The staff who take the orders are familiar with the menu and easy to deal with, and the delivery almost always arrives more quickly than the advertised 30-45 minutes (despite us being at the outer edge of their delivery zone). The last order came in 25 minutes. However, you do pay for it. With main courses in the £7-10 range, most of the starters coming in at more than £6 each and the starting price for steamed rice at £3, rising to £5.60 for fried rice, a meal for two can easily come in at £35-40. Still cheaper than eating out, when you factor in drinks and service, but much more expensive than the average takeaway. Worth it, as an occasional treat, but not a budget option. Tom, NW10

Because the intercom system at my flat is broken, the driver just gave up trying to get into building and headed back to Good Earth, without calling me. I had to call to get them to send him back, by which time the food was luke warm. Unreliable service if you live in a big building.

Great food, shame about the service. I don't mind paying more for good food, but at those prices, you'd expect the extra level of service and you wouldnt expect to pay an extra £1.10 for a tiny tub of chilli oil on the side

Really very poor indeed. Premium prices for a very average take-away. Slow to deliver. The food was dull and poor quality. Quite laughable at the prices asked.

took over an hour to be delivered, and had to phone the restaurant to chase it up, but the food was good.
