"Disappointing", the lamb khasi ko khutta described as "knuckles of spring lamb cooked for hours in a low heat oven - medium hot" was chewy lumps of lamb in a bland sauce. The chicken tika masala was mild and flavoured more like a passanda with coconut and the momo source though spicy was not the excellent chilli mustard sauce that the ghurka used to supply. One of the first times that the majority of the meal will go in the bin.

Our order was dispatched promptly. The delivery driver had trouble finding the house but phoned to confirm exactly where we were. The portions of rice were larger than expected and the mains were as expected. The food was of a good standard. We would definitely use them again.

I've already written to hungryhouse complaining of being charged for a 2l bottle of soft drink but only receiving a can. The food was of high quality and hot and tasty; no complaints over quality, but it really is an annoyance being overc harged and not getting what you ordered. Particularly when the driver barefacedly informed me that "we don't have bottles of Sprite-just cans" Contradicting his own online menu!!

Response from hungryhouse:
Hi Brian, I have just been in touch with the manager of Gurkha, who has confirmed that the restaurant does offer cans instead of bottles now. The online menu has now been updated to reflect this, and in the meantime I have sent you some vouchers to cover the cost difference between the bottle you ordered and the can you received. Food delivered on time and piping hot by a very pleasant deliveryman. The whole meal was very tasty; the Keema with peas, and brinjal (my personal favourites) were really delicious and not too hot.
Best Indian takeaway we've had in ages. I look forward to using Gurkha again. Jane, RG1

When ordering over the 'phone, or the internet, there's always a certain amount of trepedation: will the food arrive before Christmas, will it be any good, how do I feed my own Hungry Horses if it doesn't turn up? Thankfully we need not have worried.
The Gurkha provided us with wonderful dishes in no time at all. We had a Chicken Korma (for the young 'uns), a Vegetable Bhuna for the wife and I - it was good to be able to indicate how hot you'd like it on the site - although we went for meduim when mild would probably been a better call. Not withstanding, our Matter Paneer was done to perfection. All in all, no worries, decent grub and no frantic calls asking "where is it?" Nigel, RG2

SHOCKING!!!!!!
I don't think I have ever been so disappointed with a meal. I ordered Lamb shashlik and it was uneatable. The meat was so bad that I couldn't even cut it let alone chew it. o my meal was boiled rice and a bit of sauce from my sons meal. May I suggest that either you buy better quality meat or leave it to cook slowly for a lot longer because what you are serving right now is terrible!!!!! Zoe, RG4

Delicious food. This is the third time we have ordered from Kathmandu Kitchen and we're really pleased with the quality of all the dishes we have ordered. In particular the Kathmandu potato and brinjal are exceptional. The Tarka Dhall was a bit too hot for me, but my husband loved it. Our order was freshly cooked, hot and it arrived on time. Look forward to our next meal.

The food itself was amazing and couldn't be faulted but was quite disappointed because when the meal arrived, and they had forgotten to include the bottle of coke we ordered. I phoned them straight away and expected it to arrive fairly quickly but it took 25 minutes by which time we'd practically finished our meal. In addition, were not at all impressed by their response when we asked them to return with our bottle of coke as they merely said 'we'll try' despite the fact we had actually paid for it.
