Lovely sushi and great soup but a little over priced.

The food was more or less fine. However, if you order sushi for 33£ you do expect that the quality is excellent. But unfortunately, it was not. I just could not get read of the impression that the sushi was made a day or two prior to my order. But please, do not get me wrong since it was still tasty. But for the level of quality, this order should have not been 33£ but rather 15 to a max. of 20£.

Teriakyi chicken was good but the vegetable tempura was cold and slimy...would not recommend. Miso soup was nice and the service was good. Would order from here again but not the tempura.

Food was not of the quality I expect in Japanese. When charging the same price as a restaurant, I would expect it to be prepared fresh like at a restaurant. It unfortunately tasted as if it had been taken out of the fridge. The packaging would confirm that. So, I would only say that it isn't value for money, not that the food was terrible.

I ordered chicken wings and the miso cod (Chef's special) because it's Sunday night on a long weekend and I have to study. This was supposed to be a break, or at least give me time to do what I need to do.
The order arrived pretty quickly: (+). The chicken was still hot and kind of crispy, allowing for it being transported in a foil container, would have been actually crispy: (+). The advertised promotion (free miso soup for orders over £15) and confirmed on the email wasn't in the order and the restaurant didn't know about it when the driver called because I asked where the soup was. (-) I would have ordered the soup if I'd known it wouldn't be in my dinner. I tried to call the restaurant myself after checking the email - no answer...(-) Then the Chef's Special - if this is the special, go somewhere else. The price is fine - £12 for fish and rice. Right? No...because the rice was like gluey mush where the sauce got on it and it was hard and dry where there was no sauce. I had been so excited because I love miso cod - so I pretty much order it when I see it on a menu. You can tell a lot about a place from how they make a dish you love. So this one...I had been anticipating a nice bit of fish, marinated and grilled. Instead - it's like they shaved off the fish and left the skin and a tiny bit of meat. Such a disappointment...I've had some stellar miso cod and some indifferent and some which was just plain bad. This was by far the worst ever - I had to cover it and put it in the other room because the smell was not yummy. There was more meat on the chicken wings which are classified as a starter, than there is in the fish, which is supposed to be a main. It should have been described as "miso marinated cod skin with a tiny bit of flesh on it so that you know it's fish with a whole container of rice and some carrot and red cabbage shreds to make it look gourmet and we are hoping you don't notice there's pretty much no food there." So much for branching out - time to go back to my old favorites. Although tonight...£17 later and I'll be making beans on toast. A, W1G
