The quality of food was excellent as ever but I felt for the first time that the quantity of food such as chicken tikka (pieces) and mint sauce was less, However service and price were very reasonable. Love Mirchiz ;)

There are no truly great Indian restaurants in York but Mirchiz has always been consistently well above average - and has a more imaginative selection for vegetarians than most. The 'flash' Indians in town are not really indian. They cook in the Pakistan tradition which is fine but for the closest you'll get to flavoursome, modern Hindu style cooking in this particular provincial backwater, takeaways from this place hit the spot for me.

I ordered the food at 7.50, was told it would arrive between 8.15 and 9.20 but came at 9.40 and was quite cold. once reheated the curry was lovely but the onion bahji was really overcooked. I do appreciate it was probably a very busy night being close to Christmas
