Customer Profile: Alfie and his Family

This week's customer profile is extra special because we're profiling not one member of our community, but a young family of three. A few weeks back, we found out that the spicy kick from a Bengal Pavilion curry helped to bring new life into the world – Alfie.

We wanted to know how he and his parents were doing since then, and it turns out hungryhouse had the opportunity to bring about some Valentine's romance for these new parents...

Tell us a bit about yourselves.

Young, new, family

How did you discover hungryhouse?

After a couple of not very nice experiences with our usual takeaways we decided to look on the internet for another local delivery service, which is when we came across hungryhouse. We were delighted to find such a big range of types of food and restaurant.

When do you usually order at hungryhouse?

Our first use of hungryhouse was 16th November 2009, we had been to the hospital in the day to check that our first baby, which by then was 10 days overdue, was doing ok. The midwife reasured us that everything was fine and encouraged us to try a few old wives tales to help our little bundle of joy into the world naturally (if there was no appearance by the 20th we would have been induced). So a hot curry was first on our list, this is what led us to finding hungryhouse. We ordered a lovely mix of curries from Bengal Pavilion at about 8pm, the first contractions started at about 4am on the 17th and our baby boy Alfie finally arrived at 5.04am on the 18th.

We most recently ordered again from hungryhouse for a Valentine's treat and once again the food and service was outstanding. It definitely spiced up our weekend.

What's your favourite thing about ordering online at hungryhouse?

It is easy to order to individual needs, we cannot eats nuts and so can state this without having to try to explain our request over the phone. Its also good not having to worry about having enough cash to pay for the meal as cards are accepted, except of course the tip for the delivery driver.

What makes a great takeaway experience?

A great takeaway, is delivered quickly, is still hot and is very tasty.

It's your last meal and you're ordering online at hungryhouse... what do you order? From where?

We would order a Chicken Tikka Masala, a Lamb Rogan Josh, a Lamb Jalfezi, a Chicken Biriani, a pilau rice and a couple of garlic naans all from Bengal Pavilion, we are not greedy there are usually a few of us when we do get a takeaway so we all have a taste of each others, its the best way to not miss out on anything.

If you could change or improve any one thing about hungryhouse, what would it be?

We wouldn't change a thing, it is perfect as it is.

Anything else we should know about you?

We would like to thank hungryhouse and the Bengal Pavilion for helping little Alfie on his way, also for the great service and wonderful food.

[It seems by the last couple of answers that this young family is truly happy -- so happy, in fact, that they're looking at everything through rose-coloured glasses. Good for them and, apparently, good for us, too... No complaints here... -- hungryhouse HQ]
