Who said romance was dead???

hungryhouse customers have dispelled the rumour that romance is dead, by placing a record number of takeaway orders through our website on Saturday night.

Valentine's Day provided the necessary inspiration for hungry hearts all over the UK to order in their partner's favourite feast.

And what was the most popular cuisine of choice? Why Indian of course!

After all, it's hard to beat a good Vindaloo when trying to curry favour with a lover (sorry, couldn't resist!).

While a spicy curry proved extremely popular with 21% of customers, Chinese (19%) and Pizza (18%) came in a close second and third, followed by Thai (12%), Burgers and Chicken (9%) and Kebabs (6%).

The most popular dish was a Chicken Korma with Garlic Naan, indicating a blatant disregard for bad breath.

The margherita pizza came in as second most popular dish, noting people's desire to stay middle-of-the-road rather than risk offence with extravagant toppings.

All in all, the team at hungryhouse hope everyone enjoyed their special evenings and all orders arrived promptly and correctly. Most importantly, that all appetites were satisfied!
