Bundu Khan, Aldgate East
There's something about Christmas time that makes us crave comfort.
Our Review of the Week winner, Hash, was feeling a bit nostalgic after enjoying a meal from Bundu Khan. Was it the season? Or perhaps the inviting smell of a favourite dish done right that had him thinking of home.
Hash attributes the tasty meal to the spice and the style of Bundu Khan's chicken makhani. Even with a less than pipping hot meal which was a tidbit on the oily side, he was delighted by the "best meal in London."
Hash's wins £25 from hungryhouse for painting a picture of memorable nights in India - and leaving a great review.

Eating Bundu Khan's food today reminded me of my days in college in India ... actually not days but nights ...
2am on the coldest night, we would go to the Highway Dhaba for an opulent meal of butter chicken and tandoori roti - although you can't compare Bundu Khan's chicken makhani to a desi dhaba butter chicken, it is one of the good ones I have had in London (especially if you tell them to make it spicy).
Yes, as others have put it, the food is a bit oily (understatement), but that and the spice is what will remind you of how the food used to be from wherever you came from.
I really loved the flavours and the spices. I also ordered the bihari boti kebab which was also well spiced, but unfortunately had got cold by the time it got delivered - 30 secs in the microwave and no harm done.
The surprise package was the Bundu Khan paratha, which is like a big fried paratha - a hybrid of a paratha, bhatura and puri - still crisp on the outside and soft inside - a real delight to eat with the excellent chicken makhani.
One of the best meals I have had in London!!! Well Done Bundu Khan!!! "
