Olympic Pizza and Grill, Forest Hill

We get a lot of reviews to consider for our Review of the Week competition. Some of them are passionate love notes to the Chef, some are functional and fact based, and some are just downright strange. This week's winner Sakina managed to write us a review that includes a little of everything – organised, fact based and passionate... We love it!

Summarised.

Absolutely the BEST take away food I have ever eaten.

I've ordered three times from Olympic Pizza and Grill in Forest Hill, twice with in the same week! Not because we're greedy, but we were just so amazed the first time we were left thinking of them and wanting more (ok greedy).

I honestly can't fault them on anything. I'm trying hard to find something (ok they forgot a roll the first time, but this seems to happen everywhere plus they sorted it instantly and apologised, so they're forgiven) but look at this:

1. £5 for a whole grilled chicken!? I expected it to be tiny and/or tasteless, but seriously if you added a bit of peri peri sauce, you'd never know the difference between this and Nandos!

2. Everything comes perfectly wrapped in insulated packaging. The food comes piping hot (first for us) leading me to my next point.

3. Everything is amazingly fresh! I can now guarantee that every other placed I've ordered take away food from do not give you fresh food, it's been there a day or at least a few hours. This food clearly has been prepared for your order including the chips! NOT reheated x 10!

4. A free tub of haagendazs ice cream!?!? I mean seriously come on? This is just the icing on top (literally)

When you order fast food you always feel like there's some kind of compromise. It's either cold, dry, tasteless ect. You're always left half regretting your purchase (the other being the fact you had to eat something).

Considering how disappointed we usually are when we finally open the packages (and we're not super fusses (OK, my wife is)), this place has set the bar for take away. I can't even say this is how it should be because between the extremely reasonable prices (don't want to say cheap, they might put them up :-) and well prepared food they've far exceeded any possible expectations i could ever have. Maybe we've just had too many bad experiences with £20 food that you feel forced to eat, but these guys obviously respect their customers and cook, deliver and present their food as though we're family.

Had we not been so lazy after enjoying our meals we would have contacted the manager and begged them not to change, we're still strongly considering doing this seriously.

Again, best take away. Full stop.
