Review of the week - 7 Spices, Leeds

We went for basics of the menu and it was a very tasty, cheap, but simple meal. However, I think I'll be going back soon, trying the less standard options on the menu and am confident I'll be able to raise the rating to the full 5 stars.

Popadoms were crisp, not greasy and the chutney and yoghurt were tasty and had a home made feel.

I'm not a Korma fan (thought it a bit watery) but my girlfriend loved it. The Chicken and Spinach Balti was great with enough spice to make it flavour-some (often find Balti's made with too little spice but this was good).

Pleased to find curries with Spinach in on the menu. I find it brings out the flavour in hot spices and allows you to go for a curry that's bit stronger than you'd normally palate.

Naan's were nicely doughie, not the greatest I've ever had but a good step up from the papery one's I ate as a student.

All round, an excellent restaurant. Expect another review once I've been a bit more daring with the menu. Remember; first visit, play it safe. If you like it, go back and ask them what the best stuff on the menu is.

Thanks Hungry House and 7 Spices!
