Review of the week - Sweet Lemon

This week's Review of the Week is another tale of redemption - at hungryhouse HQ we are all suckers for happy endings.

Sweet Lemon get a lot of enthusiastic positive reviews, so it's interesting to see how they handle themselves when they get something wrong for a change. The answer appears to be graciously and with free popadoms, as Josh was happy to learn.

Josh wins a £25 hungryhouse voucher for sharing his story and reminding us that even when everything doesn't go perfectly at first, there's always hope!

"Sweet Lemon turns it around.

I believe that the beauty of the delivery is based on just that: the delivery bit. So when Sweet Lemon's driver called me asking me to come outside, I naturally had the right hump. More dismay quickly followed upon finding one of our orders missing and one puny single popadom, crushed to dust, at the bottom of the bag.

Putting on my best telephone voice I called Sweet Lemon ready to give someone some grief, but his apology quickly turned to disbelief after I told him the saga of the popadom. In a bid to keep our custom, he offered to not only to replace the missing dish, but (despite a small delay) had the driver return with my reperations.

Little did I expect what was to come: Not one but TWO popadoms and a range of chutnies that would make my mother weep. Not only that, but the driver actually came to the door this time.

So all in all, a right result. It's good to know that when Sweet Lemon gets it wrong, they have the balls to make it right.

Let's just hope they didn't gob in it. (This is, of course, a joke. I hope they did.)
