Dragons' Den - what really did happen next?

Three years after hungryhouse co-founders, Shane and Tony, appeared on Dragons' Den and received an offer of investment from Duncan Bannatyne and James Caan, Duncan and the BBC revisited our illustrious leaders to find out if hungryhouse could be 'the one that got away'.

The hungryhouse story since appearing in the Den has been an exciting one. We have expanded from 120 restaurants in mid-2007 to now list over 2,500 menus covering most of the UK's major cities.

We're well aware that this still leaves a big chunk of the UK to cover, so we are continuing to grow as quickly as possible. You can find a chart of our progress, here.

To propel us toward our goal of listing the most popular menus from every town in the UK, we are now looking for a second round of investment from venture capital organisations. Additional funds will allow us to grow even quicker, and also help us to introduce great new features - such as a mobile phone app to make ordering online even more convenient!

We'd also like to thank you, our loyal customers, for helping us lead a revolution in the takeaway industry. We've appreciated your support over the last 4 years and look forward to exciting times ahead.

At hungryhouse, we're always looking for better ways to connect customers and restaurants. We have already seen that through transparent sharing of the information in reviews, our customers are benefiting from improved customer service.

The community of food lovers at hungryhouse, and the buzz that they create about the best local menus and tastiest dishes, is what keeps us excited about this business. It's certainly a key aspect of our service that we plan to develop further...
