New Year, New Feature: Customer Profiles

As the new year rolls around, we at hungryhouse HQ feel it’s high time we acknowledged the invaluable contribution made by members of our community.

It is in this spirit that the hungryhouse team is excited to unveil a new regular feature of our newsletter – customer profiles!

For our first installment of this exciting new feature, we're profiling Simon Stevens. This “Funky Physically Impaired Determined Enterprising Young Brit” is an independent disability consultant and trainer who has been a loyal member of our community for some time now.

We asked him a few questions, and he gave us some great answers. So, without further ado, introducing Simon Stevens...


Tell us a bit about yourself.

I am an experienced independent disability consultant and trainer. I also have cerebral palsy, which affects my speech, mobility, hand control, balance, continence and sense of humour (in a positive way!).

How did you discover hungryhouse?

Not sure, web surfing I think.

When do you usually order at hungryhouse?

Evening meals to save time or if my personal assistants let me down.

What's your favourite thing about ordering online at hungryhouse?

I can browse the menu at my leisure and order what I like how odd the combination without having to explain it or feel awkward saying and and and

What makes a great takeaway experience?

Having the smell of a freshly prepared takleaway coming from the kitchen

It's your last meal and you're ordering online at hungryhouse... What do you order? From where?

Royal Grill

2 meat samosas, 1 chicken pathia, 1 meat korma, 1 keema rogan josh, 1 chicken dopiaza, 1 house special biriyani, 2 boiled rice, 1 keema naan

What is the strangest place you've ever eaten a takeaway?

In a Romanian orphanage where I was a guest

What non-food items do you wish were available for delivery on hungryhouse?

AA and AAA batteries

If you opened your own takeaway restaurant, what would you call it and what kind of food would you serve? What would your signature dish be?

Spaz bol' and I would serve international and easy to eat dishes including full Sunday Roast, All day breakfast, Encasualities, party food etc

If you could change or improve any one thing about hungryhouse, what would it be?

Free food? Maybe more sample menus and include personal catering service
