What Do You Think of Our New Idea? -- Pop-Up Takeaways

Here at hungryhouse HQ, we've got a new idea that we're really excited about - “Pop-Up Takeaways.” The goal is to help entrepreneurial food lovers take their first steps towards running their own takeaway delivery businesses. We want to know what you think of our concept...

Normally, opening a restaurant involves high start-up costs and big risk, so it's tough for people to break into the business. But we reckon that there's loads of unfulfilled potential in our neighbourhoods, so we got to wondering how we could help talented people get noticed.

Then it hit us -- What if passionate people could set up their own food delivery businesses from home, get fully licensed, and get their menus listed on hungryhouse.co.uk? Just like that, people could be earning money from their culinary talents!

It's really about the power of reviews. Just like any restaurant that partners with us, Pop-Up Takeaways would have to prove their worth. If our community of customers isn't impressed, the reviews page will show it and the business won't get orders. So, for anyone opening a Pop-Up Takeaway, success would be based on one factor alone: customer satisfaction.

Of course, maintaining standards is vital. Pop-Up Takeaways would be required by law to be inspected and licensed by the local council. And, as always at hungryhouse, we'd ensure that our customers could make an informed choice about who they order from by marking all Pop-Up Takeaway menus with a special logo.

More than giving passionate entrepreneurs a chance, we imagine that Pop-Up Takeaways could provide something new and exciting for customers. Established delivery services rarely change things up, so we get a lot of customers asking for something other than the typical Chinese, Indian and Pizza restaurants.

What if Pop-Up Takeaways offered something that other local takeaways don't? From healthier options to uncommon cuisines, Pop-Up Takeaways have the potential to fill the gap in your local market.

So, what do you think of the idea? Please let us know by answering a couple of questions for us in this 20-second survey.

If you or anyone you know is looking to combat the recession while indulging a passion for cooking (or if you're just interested to read more about how it would work), check out our straightforward guide describing what it would take to run a Pop-Up Takeaway.

We've already had some really positive feedback about the Pop-Up Takeaway idea. One of our favourites is Fuella, a talented blogger whose posts are all about fuelling the economy by spending money wisely. Have a look at her post about Pop-Up Takeaways
