A review of my order history will show that I have been a long time devotee of No. 10 but recently I have had a serious of disappointing meals. Thankfully this last meal was great and a return to the form that initially confirmed No. 10 as my go-to Chinese! As for the food:
My pork gyoza starter was delicious although they were reminiscent of sausage rolls if you didn't add any sauce. Both mains, the ubiquitous sweet and sour chicken and crispy chili beef although unadventurous on our part were tasty both on the night and as part of a lazy noodle stir fry the next day! One thing I have never been able to fault No. 10 on is their delivery drivers, they're probably the nicest I've ever met and there's certainly to awkward delay in leaving to try and conjure up a tip. The packaging is standard but the carrier bag was from another online delivery site that 'Just' isn't as good as HH! My only grip is one that I have had to complain about with every restaurant... "Free prawn crackers with orders over £15" should mean I get free prawn crackers with my £27.30 order. The same story is true of free poppadums. Of course I always get a refund which is greater than the cost of the prawn crackers and I do understand that not everyone will want prawn crackers but PLEASE just have a tick box to say that you want them if they are being offered free... surely this will be better for everyone involved. This restaurant offers authentic and delicious Chinese food at not rip off prices. This isn't some sort of fake European version of Chinese cuisine; it's the real deal as attested by the fact that Chinese people actually eat here. To be able to have food of this quality as a delivery is a real treat.
