Better sushi than in most of the restaurants. Fast delivery. Miso soup is not very good, but nigiri, maki, hand rolls are spot on!!!

Lovely!...A few reviews ago I has (minor) cause to complain...This was Obento back to their super best. Is the nicest chicken Katsu curry I've eaten anywhere :o)

Good good good. My only complain is that the dorayaki was FREEZING COLD. They put it in the package with the cold food (sushi, in my case) instead in the special package for hot food. And I think it wasn't on purpose (I mean, I don't think it was supposed to be with the cold food), since the previous time was with the hot food (udon soup and miso soup, if I remember correctly).

Everything was excellent (especially the miso soup!) but I didn't like the prawn tempura udon noodle soup. I don't know why. Maybe because there were too many vegetables - broccoli, soy sprouts and some others I don't remember right now - and too few udon noodles.
Still, the miso soup was delicious, the salmon nigiri and maki too (even if, for my taste, there were not enough salmon in the maki, you could barely feel it on the tongue when eating them), the green tea custard doriyaki was very well made and piping hot (love it!) and the teriyaki sauce was really good, the service was perfect, and it's not too expensive. I just complain that for the free delivery you need to spend £15, when the minimum is £10 and the delivery service is around £3. I mean, if I have to spend MINIMUM £10 of food + £3 of delivery, I think everyone would choose to spend another £2 to have more food instead of "wasting" £3 just for the delivery. I... I don't think it's fair. I think that they should just do like many others, setting the free delivery at the minimum order (so at £10). I would surely buy from them more happily. Chiara, TW1

We have never been disappointed with the quality and freshness of the food and Obento has become our favourite now. Only criticism I have are the long delivery times but the gorgeous food makes up for it! (maybe change your paper bags too, they are a little flimsy). apart from that 5* every time !

Average sushi, reasonable beef teriyaki and yakisoba. The Yakitori skewers were not very warm and were disappointing to taste. Not even as good as a certain high street chain competitor, which really isn't that great either. Would eat there again, but hope to see improvement, or to find a better alternative.

After reading the plentiful reviews on Obento, I thought I'd give it a try. I've noticed that quite a few people have mentioned how their order had arrived cold - I wish ours did! We ordered a sushi set and some sashimi with rice. We live in Teddington so the order arrived within 45 minutes and the service was fantastic. The quality of food is reasonable. The sushi and the sashimi were a little warm for my liking however, it should be served a little cooler. I am sure the fish is fresh but not as fresh as we would like ;-)
All in all, I'd rate Obento 7/10 - an establishment fit for times where you're a little cash strapped but serves a stomach satisfactorily. Pandora, TW11
