The Oval Brasserie delivered my food nice and promptly, the gentleman who brought my food to the door was polite and well dressed, the food was ok, nothing really stood out apart from the fact it was a curry like so may i have had before, the chicken was a over cooked and the madras sauce was a little watery, the onion bajhi's were very good nice and light and no grease what so ever, the salad was fresh but i cant understand why like so many other restaurants they put it in a small carrier bag, it really does not do the salad much justice and can be off putting, i would try another of the local curry houses before i can really judge how good or bad the restaurant is, so it would be unfair to be completly negative until i see what the competition has to offer, i will leave reviews on the others as soon as i have used them which will be soon, as for value? again run of the mill nothing special just the normal prices, the menu was not overly extensive and if was looking to seek somting more authentic i would look else where.

Have eat in and had take away from hear many times, the taste is slightly different from here than say the pride of india also at the oval, but it is nice i think they use ghee in alot of their cooking , compared to other restaurants using veg oil, but that is what makes it taste nice, it is not my favourite restaurant but the more i eat here the more i like it, and i seem to order from here more than anywhere else at the moment, the delivery times vary alot on how busy they are but last nights was 25 minutes, the time before was peak time saturday an was an hour and 15 minuets
chicken tikka jalfrezi is my favourite from here , the heat of the chilies is justy right, and you get a good portion of chicken when compared to some other restaurants when i have take away from here i usually drain off the excess oil/ ghee from the container as it does come with a lot in. I also like the convenience of being able to order and pay online using hungryhouse.co.uk Iwould definitely recommend the oval brasserie, and i lookforward to my next takeaway from them Peter, DA15

Was not shown as the oval brasserie but "Gulshan" in New Eltham, on delivery told not to order again as too far to come. Impolite on telephone. Stale poppodoms. Half filled plastic containers. Overpriced for what we recieved.

I have ordered from this restaurant before & had no problems what so ever. However on this occassion although the food was delivered just outside the prescribed time (understanderble with the weather conditions). The standard was not up to the Oval Brasserie's usual high standards. Not only were there 3 items missing (1 x mango chutney - £0.55, 1 x Onion Salad - £0.55 & 1 x mint sauce - £0.55) Several of the dishes were stone cold on arrival (how long had they been sitting out waiting to be delivered) but the most dissapointing aspect was the quality of the curry. The Lamb Tikka Bangalore (which is one of my favorite dishes) was quite positively tastless, & had no discernable taste difference from any of the other Tikka Dishes delivered. The Chicken Tikka Bedam Passanda was also way below standard consisting of a quite tastless & flavourless sauce (which there was to much of) with very little chicken in it. The chicken that was present were very small pieces & also very dry (severely overcooked). To say I am dissapointed in being served a meal in this condition is a severe understatement. I expect to enjoy a meal I've paid £73 for whether or not it is a sit in or a take away. I will now think long & hard before using the Hungry House online ordering system again & the Oval Brasserie has some serious bridge building to do before I will even consider giving them my patronage again.
