This was a disaster from start to finish. The food arrived late and was cold, as a result the rice was a congealed mass in the container. I separated the rice and added the main dishes to the plate and microwaved the mains in the hope of eating as we were starving after waiting for so long.
The food was not edible, so I called the restaurant. The manager was very arrogant and said that he would "make it up to us next time". When I said that this wasn't good enough and that I wanted a refund he agreed and sent the driver to collect the food. I received an email from Hungry House the next day informing me that the manager had refused a refund as he said that some of the food was missing. I can categorically state that the only food missing was the starter and a nan bread. The rest of the order was sent back. I feel very disappointed at the level of service I have received from both the restaurant and Hungry House. I wound not recommend this restaurant. Susan, DA15

Best curry house in the area with the best staff. I have tried others but I always go back to the Oval Brasserie.

They called us for directions as they didn't have a sat nav or map which took ages to explain and when we got the delivery they asked us for payment although we paid online.

The Oval Brasserie delivered my food nice and promptly, the gentleman who brought my food to the door was polite and well dressed, the food was ok, nothing really stood out apart from the fact it was a curry like so may i have had before, the chicken was a over cooked and the madras sauce was a little watery, the onion bajhi's were very good nice and light and no grease what so ever, the salad was fresh but i cant understand why like so many other restaurants they put it in a small carrier bag, it really does not do the salad much justice and can be off putting, i would try another of the local curry houses before i can really judge how good or bad the restaurant is, so it would be unfair to be completly negative until i see what the competition has to offer, i will leave reviews on the others as soon as i have used them which will be soon, as for value? again run of the mill nothing special just the normal prices, the menu was not overly extensive and if was looking to seek somting more authentic i would look else where.

Only thing was that the lamb was very small and not much of it in my curry

Have eat in and had take away from hear many times, the taste is slightly different from here than say the pride of india also at the oval, but it is nice i think they use ghee in alot of their cooking , compared to other restaurants using veg oil, but that is what makes it taste nice, it is not my favourite restaurant but the more i eat here the more i like it, and i seem to order from here more than anywhere else at the moment, the delivery times vary alot on how busy they are but last nights was 25 minutes, the time before was peak time saturday an was an hour and 15 minuets
chicken tikka jalfrezi is my favourite from here , the heat of the chilies is justy right, and you get a good portion of chicken when compared to some other restaurants when i have take away from here i usually drain off the excess oil/ ghee from the container as it does come with a lot in. I also like the convenience of being able to order and pay online using hungryhouse.co.uk Iwould definitely recommend the oval brasserie, and i lookforward to my next takeaway from them Peter, DA15
