Flavoursome, not at all greasy, tender chicken/lamb, saag paneer had decent amount of paneer in it, taaka daal very tasty. Rice and Spice is definitely one of the better Indian takeaways I've had, will order from here again.

Firstly, the food is excellent (as always), however, don't order pilau rice! We ordered it in our last order...it didn't come, so we gave Rice and Spice the benefit of the doubt. We ordered it again this evening and guess what, it didn't come! Even though the rice is pretty insignificant on it's own, and the food is delicious, we can't help feel that we've been swindled for a fiver! Order pilau rice at your peril...

I like this place but was mortified to find two mint sauces instead of one mint sauce and one mango chutney!! MC is the best bit about poppadoms and I was gutted about this mistake. The rest of the food was good though especially the lovely crispy onion bhajis. Only other error was two regular cokes instead of a regular and a diet! Together with the mango chutney omission, this was particularly disappointing.

The food always arrives piping hot! I ordered the chicken tikka rolls which the kids love, very filling! Also order the chicken tika masala which was lovely and also looked nice and red unlike other restaurants where it can look yellow/ orange which is quite off putting. Second time i've ordered from Rice and Spice, will be ordering again, thank you very much!

really top notch!
I chose this place based on other positive reviews on hungry house and must admit i was a bit sceptical at some of them being so positive especially when the name "Rice and Spice" seemed so simplistically inauspicious. It turns out that the good reviews are all true and this is a truly cracking Indian restaurant. The poppadoms were good (though they are hard to get wrong!) and the sauces that accompanied them were all lovely - the mango chutney was slightly thinner then i am used to but very enjoyable. The onion Bhajis were excellent - nice and crispy and delivered piping hot (just like all of the food). Chicken bhuna was near perfection with beautiful big succulent chunks of meat and plenty of them. Lamb curry was very tasty, well seasoned and a nice thick sauce without any oiliness. The quality of meat could have been slightly higher as there were one or two chewy bits and a small piece of bone in one of them but the flavour was super. King Prawn dopiaza was also really tasty; the prawns were well cleaned and prepared and the sauce was perfectly spiced and seasoned. the garlic naan was hot and soft, though, despite lots of garlic pieces on them, they weren't especially garlic-flavoured but that is a very minor point. The only other dish we tried was the chicken pakora which came looking like breadcrumbed eggs (nothing like i had seen before). They turned out to be wonderfully spicy little morsels and, with the help of some saucy from the above dishes, they were eaten with gusto. overall i will definitely be re-ordering from this place and am really pleased to have found it. I have thrown out all of my other indian menus because they are inferior in every department - Thank you Rice and Spice, your food is seriously nice!! Felix, SE15

I am not won over by Indian takeaways easily. I have alot of Indian freinds and know what good Indian food is. This was fantastic, very tasty, nicely spiced and no excess oil showing.
Will definatley use again! Steve, SE14

The dhansak was really delicious and there was a lot of it. Great value for money. The naan was a little bit thinner than I'm used to, but then for the price I can't really complain. Came with free poppadoms and the usual little accompaniments for the sides - onions, yogurt sauce, salad. Very good indeed. Would order again without hesitation. Yummy stuff.

The delivery drivers are strangely reluctant to come to your front door, and last time I ordered they got my order wrong, but this place still gets full marks because the food is just amazing. We never order from any other indian.
