Really slow delivery and too hot when we ordered it mild. Could definitely be better.

Response from restaurant: The Saffron Club strives to serve the best food on this site, our award winning chefs will re-prepare a dish if everything is not perfect and hence this may lead to delays.
We have been constantly voted 'Top Diner' by Top table,The Crown club has voted us the best curry house in Blackheath. This has extra meaning than mere semantics as there are many good restaurants in the area. Our food is not oily, greasy,
fatty coloured stodge which masquerades as Indian fine Dining. 'Good food for good Times'

Food was of decent quality but the order was almost completely wrong. Ordered 3 dishes, 2 of which were the wrong dishes (despite being marked on the packets with the right names, so I'm assuming it was deliberate). They were also the wrong strength, to the point where one couldnt be eaten.
Very disappointed. M d, SE10

Response from restaurant: The Saffron Club apologises for the disappointment experienced by M d of Se10,
The dish in question is Briyani, our particular style is in the Hyderabad style (origin of the most famous Briyanis) where the rice and dish (vegetable, meat, or chicken) are independently slow-cooked before being infused together.
(In the restaurant they will come in a clay pot which has a flour seal around the rim.) For home dining we serve them separately. We are sorry this led to the confusion.
The Saffron club is attentive and its motto is 'Good food for good times' and
we would never deliberately falsify anything.

The mains are very good, particularly the seafood curry which uses first rate ingredients - giant muscles and tiger prawns. So too the sides with the smoked aubergine standing out. The free poppadoms were disappointingly stale - tip for the restaurant would be don't send it if it's sub standard, even if you are giving it away. The rice tasted good but was a little clumped.
Overall - would use again. Simon, SE3

Food was excellent but the delivery took 1h40m. Despite both my telephone numbers being on the HungryHouse order, the delivery driver had only been given one by the restaurant, and that number didn't work so he couldn't call me. However, I put clear instructions of how to find the place on the order too and they apparently weren't given to the driver either. When I finally spoke to the driver by phoning the restaurant and telling them to give him my other number from the order details, I just read out the delivery instructions from the order details and he found it in minutes. So, the food was lukewarm. But it wasn't the driver's fault, he was extremely apologetic. And the food once warmed up was excellent, especially the tandoori lamb chops.
