This was my first time using hungryhouse and I was very impressed. Not long after I placed my order, I received a phone call from Samuels to let me know the large rice I had ordered wasn't included in the meal deal they could offer, should I wish to swap it for the small rice which was included. I did this and it meant I saved money. The food was very good, decent portions, good quality chicken (I had the sweet and sour chicken Cantonese style). Would definitely use them again.

The best vegetable chow mein I've ever had. No hiding the falavours with lashings of salt or oil. The only disppointment was that my wife's meal came with fried rice rather than the boiled rice as ordered.

The food was basically good and turned up in good time and piping hot. However, the Duck & Char Siu Chow Mein was perhaps a bit greasy, as were the mini spring rolls in the mixed starter. That said, the deep fried wonton were some of the best I have had and quite deliciously light and flaky, while the Beef in Chilli Black Bean Sauce was also delicious, and it was good not to be overcharged for simply adding boiled rice (30p extra with the Beef dish). So overall a really good meal at a decent price.

Spring rolls were soggy when they arrived and the chips were too greasy and oily to eat. Beef and mushroom was good though.

We all really enjoyed our meal. The tastiest food we have had in ages.

I ordered a Friday night take-away on 2nd March of Chicken Wings with Salt and Chilli and Deep Fried Squid with Salt and Chilli. Having ordered both of these dished from other Chinese take-aways, I was really looking forward to the food. The delivery arrived quite quickly and nearer the first delivery time which was good. The delivery man handed over the food with little dialogue (I usually like a friendly smile and an "enjoy your meal" type comment!). The chicken wings were ok although had very little chilli. There was big chunks of batter or breadcrumbs. The squid also lacked chilli. In general, the food was ok and I might order from Samuel's again however woouldn't go for the same food as I've experienced better elsewhere in Edinburgh.
