Burger was presented with lettuce leaf and slice of tomato, sadly lacking garnish, very boring.
Roast potatoes were not roast potatoes, but potatoes with skins on, which I am not fond of and was not prepared for. The food was not hot enough. Terry, SW15

The clotted cream was simply normal double cream and the custard was way too thin. The rest was very tasty.

OK, lesson learnt. Always read the reviews provided on this site before placing an order with a restaurant you have not used before - and listen to what the general message is.
I placed my order and got a call from Scoff to inform me that one of the items was not available - fair enough, I chose something else. Good so far. Then, the order arrived in good time. But! From thereon in things went sour: Half the items I ordered were missing - the dips for the flat bread, the dips for the wedges and the main salad. I made a call. Got a non-committal guy (not rude or unfriendly, just non-committal) at the other end who told me that the driver had forgotten to give me the 'cold' bag and would work it out and return to me with the missing half. I was to call the restaurant when this happened, so that they knew - it didn't happen. The restaurant called me 15 minutes later to check the situation - no sight of my missing items. They told me the driver would return to the restaurant, collect the items and bring them to me. I reminded them what was missing. In the meantime... My flat bread, on arrival, was all but cold. Likewise, the wedges were tepid at best and somewhat overcooked although had they been hot, they would have been ok. So I had the flat bread and wedges but no dips or sauces – that’s two dips for the wedges (tomato and garlic mayo) and two big dips for the flat bread (houmous and tzatziki). My burger, by the way, was ok. Again, not hot but ok. As I ate it I imagined what it would be like hot, which helped. (I was hungry, just off a plane), To jump ahead because it gets boring otherwise - about 40 minutes later, if not more, the rest of the food showed up. Sort of. I got a big salad, as ordered, and a small salad found its way in to the box too. Some of my dips arrived; it seemed that by this stage what I actually asked for was irrelevant because I got two tzatziki, the tomato and a sour cream. Not one tzatziki, one tomato, one houmous and one garlic mayo. Oh, and a cola showed up because I received a lemonade in part one, instead of the cola I ordered. A mixed bag really... no point going into more detail. Scoff is a good concept and it is easy to get right so they need to sort it out before they find that orders go missing rather than the food!! Ordered a toffee pudding; got a chocolate pudding instead. Tasty but not what we wanted.

The food we of a reasonable quality but I really felt that it did not warrent the price tag given. In addition, my order had either been dropped of carelessly placed into the bag as I had to fish the componants of the burger out and put it back together again.

Response from hungryhouse:
Hi Charles, Sorry to hear you didn't get exactly what you were expecting with this order. To be fair to Scoff, you did actually select double cream and not clotted cream while placing your order. Your order accepted email confirms all of the items you have ordered, if you'd like to double check that. I'm glad to hear the food was of such high quality, and that you enjoyed your meal despite this confusion. I hope you had a great night in. [Customer was also emailed] |

I ordered a lamb burger which was meant to come with potato wedges. The lamb burger was really good, but the wedges didn't make it to my front door!

The online system is great and the communication post order is helpful. Unfortunately, the order wasn't correct on arrival (the drink delivered did not match the order). Otherwise, a great way to be lazy and have everything done for you! Loved the Sticky Toffee Pud!

After reading Scoff's website I was very keen to try their food as the website says that their food is healthy. I ordered lasagna and garlic bread. Both were awful. The lasagna was swimming with oil and the garlic bread must have been made with a bulb of garlic, it was too over powering and also very greasy. The lasagna had no flavour to it. I will not be ordering from here again.
