Wow that hit the spot! I love kerelan food and I really enjoyed this meal, just demolished my masala dosa and it took me right back to india. Arrived super fast and was absolutely delicious, will definitely use this restaurant again, very happy indeed.

Read the reviews and expected alot more, the food arrived hot which is always good but sadly it was all a little bland, no wow factor. We paid £25 pounds for 2 people and not even a pappodom thrown in for good measure, probably won't use again

Food from Abi Ruchi is always fresh, interesting and delicious. This considered, it is also pretty cheap. In about 7 years of going there I haven't had a single bad meal. Their paratha is almost certainly the tastiest bread-based item available in London (I have never known anyone go back to nan after trying one), and it is one of the few restaurants I have eaten at where veggie options are often as good as meat and fish. As well as the paratha, the king fish dishes are amazing (with a texture not dissimilar to tuna, it's perfect for curries), and they do a mean dal.
They are also really friendly, proper nice people. Recommended if you like food. Avoid if you want a meal that will burn your face off. Sam, N16

My third meal at Abi Ruchi and this will definitely be my last:
-Food arriving an hour and a half after ordering (40 mins late) -No contact at all from the restaurant to explain this and no apology on arrival -Food arrived luke warm / cold and the paratha was stone cold -Special request was ignored Many other takeaways in the same area: provide much better service, contact the customer if they know they are busy/late and provide food piping hot. Excellent value for money - £34 got us enough food for 4 with enough for one left over.
Food arrived well within the time slot and was hot despite the freezing weather. The food was delicious as always, although the saag paneer was a little too creamy for my liking. I particularly enjoyed the pickle tray (especially the lemon pickle, wonderful), the lamb malabar and the lovely flaky kerala paratha, it was the perfect amount of crispy on the outside. Sophie, N16

The really great thing about Abi Ruchi is being able to get Keralan food delivered, rather than the North Indian/Anglo hybrid of most Indian Takeaways (not that I don't like that food on occasion as well).
As some other reviewers have commented, their seafood and veggie dishes are generally great. The pickle tray is also a nice touch especially the beetroot pickle which tasted really fresh. I've really enjoyed the vellappam pancakes for soaking up curries at other restaurants and these did not disappoint, they were really delicious. The Sambar was full of flavour with the veggies nice and soft. If I had one complaint with the food there was maybe a bit too much ghee / oiliness for my taste in the nadan meen curry, but it was still tasty. I'll definitely order from Abi Ruchi again. Myra, E5
